Why humidity changes how hot it feels
Air temperature is only one part of how hot a day feels. Humidity describes the amount of water vapour in the air. When humidity is high, sweat evaporates more slowly, making it harder for your body to cool itself.

What to do on humid days
Drink water regularly, schedule strenuous activity for cooler hours, take breaks in shaded or air-conditioned spaces, and check official heat advisories. Older adults, young children, outdoor workers, and people with some health conditions may be more vulnerable to heat.
Check conditions, not just the number
Use local forecasts and official guidance. A general weather website cannot assess individual health risks or replace emergency advice.
